Every year, the Consell Comarcal (Local District Council) of El Pla d’Urgell organizes the M. Mercè Marçal Prize for Poetry, dedicated to this great poetess from Ivars d’Urgell, a municipality in our comarca (local district). This prize is now well-consolidated and is already a benchmark within the world of Catalan-speaking poetry.

The awarding of the M. Mercè Marçal Prize for Poetry takes place during a literary dinner held at a restaurant in El Pla. It is an event to which personalities representing the worlds of local culture, society and economy are invited.

This year sees the 25th edition of this event. This shows that, year after year, it has become well-consolidated amongst Catalan-speaking poets, who regularly present their works.

This year, which coincides with Vallverdú Year, we have the pleasure of having him as a guest.
