More than two hundred extras will stage the “Passion of Cervera”, which is one of the oldest in Europe and has been declared a Treasure of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Catalonia and Andorra. It has been performed in Cervera for more than 500 years. Although customs change, the essence of human relations has remained the same, from the medieval period to the 21st century: violence, corruption associated with power, suicide, stoning, and the sentencing to death of an innocent prisoner.
