The end of the harvest season gave rise to festivities in honour of the unofficial second patron saint of Lleida, Sant Miquel (29 September). That is why the city of Lleida hosts its autumn festivities at the same time as the Sant Miquel Agricultural Fair. These festivities are characterised by their strong cultural focus. In addition to the traditional local folklore performances (sardanes, ball de bastons and havaneres), there is also a wide range of musical and theatrical events.
